Simple question. How are gell caps filled and sealed?

So much pressure, how can they seal the cap without the gell spilling out?

I'm not really sure, but I think they take two halves of the capsule, then fill each half, but not all the way, then slide one inside the other. If it doesn't fit snug enough, they can probably heat it to seal it. Most of the vitamins and medicines you buy in gelcap form often have more filler material than active ingredient. The filler is just there to take up volume, but it could be used to lower the viscousness of the suspension/gel.

Right on J-Man.

Only gelcaps usualy aren't made out of gell, they are made out synthetic polyvinylpyrrolidone polymer. Yes, I know, they are called gelcaps because they made them out of gell, and you can probobly still buy ones made out of gell, but it's uncommon.

Gelcaps come in three sizes: O, OO, and OOO. OOO is not as common as the other two. From what I can recall, O can hold 200mg, OO can hold 500mg, and OOO can hold 800mg. You can buy empty gelcaps at your local nutrition store. If you are a vegetarian, you can buy veggiecaps at a GNC (General Nurtrition Center). If you can't find a store that sells gelcaps localy, you can buy them online!

it could be something like how chocolate liqueurs are made... the filling is initially semi-solid, but when heat is applied, it activates a reaction which conevrts the filling to a liquid...
