The answer:(copy and paste into editor if you want to know.
Yes, the answer is always 0, 9, 18, 27 etc. The rest are generated by random. Let's try to show this mathematically. number looked up = x; a and b are digits you thought of. x = a*10 + b - (a+b) x = 9 * a clearly x is always a multiple of 9, or is = 0. Always be wary of any one asking you to sum up the digits of something. It is almost always a trick.------------- "....this will be one battle we will regret. Mark my words..." FZ 11/14/2002

Yea, or you can highlight his text...It was wierd at first, because i kept on clicking the button without doing anything, and I saw a new symbol every time so i was like wow! But then, I realized they change the key, and as FZ explained the new key will stilll have all those the same.

At first I felt omnipotent because it never 'guessed' correctly. After a few such attempts I realized that I was adding the wrong numbers together. That's when I realized I was just Boulderhead. There seem to be a number of these things on the web. It might be fun to compile a list of links to them......Conservative, n. A statesman who is enamored of existing evils, as distinguished from the liberal, who wishes to replace them with others. -- Ambrose Bierce

Really great one. I had to load the page from 3 different computers for it to work . Anyways, it was easy to find why this happens, this trick of number (having one of the multiplication of the last number that you can put in a digit (depending on the base you are using) when you subtract the sum-up of the digits from the original number). I think it will be cool to make in in another base number, it will be mis-leading for those that are used to decimal (or maybe hard to use by normal people ?)You've gotta be japaneese !

Mistress Lilith, I'm not certain but it might be you need macromedia flash player to see it. Here is a link where it can be downloaded and installed;http://www.macromedia.com/downloads/ Conservative, n.
