I read in "What not to post in the Physics forum" nothing may be said against "Accepted Physics". New theories should be posted in the Theory Develkopment Forum. What about reviewing accepted but incorrect interpretations of old theories? Einstein,Bohr and other Nobel prize winners believed a rotating electric dipole should, by Maxwell, radiate energy. Mathematically this incorrect. My finding is that if this wrong belief is set aside and the hydrogen atom is treated as a mini solar system by the Kepler, Newton and Maxwell laws all its experimerntal charactetics are explained. According to QM the Rydberg constant is a product of c^4 h^3 and several other constants. With theKepler law it is simply the frequency of the electron on its orbit, analogous to the frequency of the earth on its orbit around the sun, once a year. You must not believe me, try it four yourself. The Rydberg constant is 3.28984 10^15 Hz . The Kepler and Maxwell theories are OLD theories, the above statement contradicts accepted physics. Therefore my question is, on which forum I may post the above statement. Or is this forbidden like in Galileo's time when only the views of Aristotle were allowed? (1) Questions about the policies of PF should be posted to the Feedback forum. (2) Typically, topics about physics should be posted in either the Physics Forum or the Theoretical Physics Forum. But sometimes there is some cross-over (e.g., discussions of astrophysics in the Astronomy & Cosmology forum). (3) Here at PF, you are welcome to discuss...and yes, question...established old or new scientific theories. In general, the policy you read pertains to posts where a member is offering his/her own explanation of scientific phenomena (typically that contradicts the consensus of experts in the field). For example, you might want to post something like this in the theoretical physics forum... "Can someone explain how this observation (whatever) fits into General Relativity? It doesn't seem to fit." Whereas, we would want something like this to go to Theory Development..."All of General Relativity is wrong and here's my alternate explanation..."So, this topic at hand could go many places. But Astronomy isn't one of them. Since your overall question is how/where to post topics, I'll send this to the feedback forum. -------------------------- In the fabric of space and in the nature of matter, as in a great work of art, there is, written small, the artist’s signature. Phobos, I intended the feedback forum but, my fault or not, something went wrong I am going now to the Physics Forum. No problem, morp.By the way, it would be easier to see your response if you typed it after the [ /quote ] tag. thanks -------------------------- In the fabric of space and in the nature of matter, as in a great work of art, there is, written small, the artist’s signature. (from Sagan's "Contact")
