Since the technolgy was taken , then we will be able (easily) to re-build it. If the technology was never introduced, then maybe we will have to work harder to re-build it, but i think that eventually (even if we don't want to !) the technology will be re-build, cause human beings tend to make their life easier.

#1. Never underestimate our pride. An emp would destroy electrics, but the plans kept on paper would be intact and easy to reproduce. #2. An indian lifestyle cannot support our population right now. #3. Yum. But not that many bugs around. #4. Guns? Nah, people would rather use them to kill each other. #5. Good point. There is plenty of other ways we can all die.------------- "....this will be one battle we will regret. Mark my words..." FZ 11/14/2002

Does an EMP actually destroy electronics or simply disable them during the EMP? Or maybe either is possible? This message was written entirely with recycled electrons.

EMP actually destroys the electronics. First, I think mil spec electronics is rad hardened and would survive an EMP. Second, it wouldn't be that easy to rebuild if every chip were destroyed since chip making equipment is computer controlled. It's the old chicken and egg problem. Before the computer age, this question was asked. If all the machine tools were destroyed, how do you make the first lathe to start again? Obviously it was done but the first one you make is going to be crude. Simple cutting is easy, but accuracy and making threads isn't. Yeah, guns would survive but the equipment to make them is computer controlled too.

I picked hunting, although I'm not sure that is the correct term as I'd mostly be going after cows. Not much of a challenge there. The chickens might put up a fight. This message was written entirely with recycled electrons.

One thing is for certain, the guy with the biggest trebuje would be king. Really, building electronics is not such a big deal. Guys with '60's muscle cars would be popular, but heck they already are. Lack of computers would slow things down, but jst remember that the first Apple was built in a garage with parts from Radio shack. It's easy to make those parts, a resistor is easily made with different kinds/lengths of wire, a capacitor is easily made with plates of tin foil. Sure it'd be ugly and big and have vacuume tubes, but it wouldn't take long until things were back to 'normal.' Actually sounds kind of fun.JUPPITER OMNIPOTES, AUDACIBUS ANNUE COEPTIS
