No, becuase the same phenomenon occurs when you view a bear, or other equally scary creature. You do not need to be in possesion of the thing for the phenomenon to occur.

Is a turtle without a shell considered homeless, or naked?

Well, he could be considered both. But then, i could also be considered 'Lizard', and in most cases, probably easiest to be considered 'Dead'.

Has anyone ever tried to take the shell of a turtle?
